Do I have to apply to both the School of Social Work and the Graduate College when applying to the masters program?
Yes. A written application (including a statement of educational and career goals, a resume, and three letters of reference) should be submitted to the School of Social Work and an online application to the Graduate College at: http://www.asu.edu/graduate/admissions/
Is a test required?
Test scores from either the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Miller Analogies Test are required for applicants with a junior/senior GPA below 3.00.

Can I transfer graduate credits into the MSW program?
Yes. Depending on the type of course work you have completed. You may be able to transfer a maximum of nine credit hours (no more than six hours may be electives). Please consult with an academic advisor to verify course transfer.
If I'm admitted to the MSW program, how will I know if I have any deficiencies and how long do I have to complete them?
If accepted to the social work program, you will receive an admissions letter indicating any deficiencies you may have and the time in which they must be completed.
Can I take all my courses in Tucson for the MSW program or do I have to commute to the Downtown Phoenix Campus?
At this time, students choosing the Direct Practice concentration area, can complete all course work at the Tucson Component. Students who choose the Planning and Administration concentration area, will need to commute to the Downtown Phoenix Campus during their second year.
Can I take classes before being officially admitted to the MSW program?
Yes. A maximum of nine credit hours (no more than six credit hours may be electives) can be completed as a non-degree student.
